Indonesian national soccer team head coach Tae Yong Shin has expressed his frustration with the officiating after his team’s loss in the final of the 2023 AFF U-23 Championship.
After a scoreless draw against Vietnam in the AFF U-23 Championship Final at Rayong Stadium in Thailand last night (June 26), Indonesia’s U-23 national team lost 5-6 on penalties.
After the game, Shin took to social media to criticize the referee’s decision while also taking a moment to commiserate with the players who swallowed the loss. “Our players struggled so much in this tournament,” he said, before adding, “If you don’t see it right in front of you, it could be a lack of skill, or it could be a deliberate prank. If this happens not once or twice, but every tournament, I hope that VAR will be introduced soon to help the development of AFF soccer.”안전놀이터
He uploaded an edited video of his frustrations during the tournament. In the Malaysia match, Shin believed that opposing striker Fergus Tierney was awarded a penalty for a blindside challenge in the box, and in the final match against Vietnam, Vietnam striker Nguyen Minh Quang was awarded a penalty for a challenge on a bouncing ball in the box that hit the post of the Indonesian goal when he fell without touching Indonesian defender Alpheandra Dewanga. However, Vietnam’s penalty was saved by the goalkeeper.
