The St. Louis Cardinals should pursue Lee Jung-hoo (Kiwoom Heroes), according to Fan Nation in the United States.
“St. Louis could pursue South Korean baseball star Lee Jung-hoo, who is reportedly entering MLB free agency,” Fan Nation said on Friday (April 15).
“St. Louis is already preparing for next season, and a high-profile Korean star should be on their radar,” the outlet said. “After spending most of the 2023 season at the bottom of the standings, the Cardinals should forget about this season and look to 2024. Following a handful of young players like Ras Nuba, Jordan Walker, and Nolan Gorman, Jung-Hoo Lee could significantly improve the roster.”
“MLB.com’s John Morosi recently reported that South Korean baseball star Lee Jung-hoo is expected to sign with a major league club this winter despite being lost for the season with a fractured left ankle. The 24-year-old is batting .319 with 31 long balls, including six home runs, 45 RBIs and an OPS of .863 in 85 games this season,” he wrote. Last season, Lee won the KBO MVP award after batting .349 with 23 home runs, 113 RBIs and a .996 OPS in 142 games.
“The Cardinals will have to solve their current outfield conundrum in order to acquire Lee. Nuba and Walker will be untouchable. Realistically, a few outfielders could be traded to bolster the pitching staff. There have been many reports that the Cardinals have tried to move hard hitters like Tyler O’Neill, Dylan Carlson, and even Alec Burleson to acquire controllable starting pitching, and adding Jung-Hoo Lee could be the perfect way to ensure they don’t lose production in the outfield.”메이저사이트
St. Louis already has Seung-Hwan Oh and Kwang-Hyun Kim. Korean-American Tommy Edmon also plays there.
