All five KBO League games have been canceled again due to rain.
The NC Dinos-Dusan Bears (Jamsil), Lotte Giants-Hanwha Eagles (Daejeon), LG Twins-KT Wiz (Suwon), SSG Landers-Samsung Lions (Daegu), and Kiwoom Heroes-KIA Tigers (Gwangju) games of the 2023 KBO League, which were scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. on the 20th, were all canceled due to rain.
The Suwon game will be rescheduled for October 2. The remaining games will be rescheduled at a later date.
The KBO announced the rescheduling of the canceled games late last month, but 24 more games have since been canceled.
As more games were canceled due to rain, the pressure on KBO officials increased.
Since its inception, the KBO has had many games canceled and resumed due to rain, but only one case exceeded three hours (Game 2 of the KT-Hanwha doubleheader on July 17). The 204-minute wait was due to concerns that too many games were canceled due to rain, which could disrupt the postseason schedule.
In total, 90 games were canceled due to rain, the most ever. While the league will continue to play during the Hangzhou Asian Games, the number of rescheduled games will make it difficult to schedule a pennant race.안전놀이터
For now, it looks like the postseason will begin after October 20. If that happens, the Korean Series, which usually starts in late October, won’t start until early November and won’t end until mid-November. The so-called “Winter Korean Series” could become a reality.
The last time the Korean Series started later in the KBO was in the 2020 season. On November 24, 2020, the NC Dinos defeated the Doosan Bears in Game 6 of the Korean Series at Gocheok Sky Dome to win the title.
