Tottenham’s Brien Hill, 22, could be on the verge of a breakout season.
British outlet Spurs Web cited a report from British outlet Football Insider on Aug. 8 about Hill’s current situation.
“Hill has impressed manager Enzi Postecoglou and the coaching staff in training. He is expected to play a key role in the coming weeks.”
“Tottenham had plenty of options up front a few weeks ago, but a few injuries have left them struggling for options at the moment,” it added.
“Ivan Perisic is out for the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Manor Solomon injured his knee in training last week and will be out for three months.”
“Brennan Johnson is also out with an injury but is expected to be available for the Fulham game after the international break,” the outlet noted.
Hill is expected to play a key role. “Tottenham’s injury crisis has opened the door for Hill to play,” the outlet said, “He has recently recovered from a groin injury and has been involved in training.”
Hill joined Spurs from Sevilla in the summer of 2021. Spurs were attracted to Hill’s potential. With his pace and the individual skills to rattle more than one defense, he was a resource for Tottenham’s future.
Tottenham paid £25 million for him, but he struggled to be an immediate starter. In 20 appearances, including cup competitions, in the 21-22 season, he mostly came on as a substitute.

When Kuluczewski was injured midway through the season, Hill got his chance, but his minutes weren’t long enough to make an impact – he only managed one assist in 11 games. He eventually left on loan to his hometown club Sevilla in the January transfer window.
At Sevilla, he had a solid start. In total, he scored two goals and provided three assists in 24 games. He started 10 of their 17 La Liga games.
Since returning from his loan, Hill has been rehabbing his injury and recently returned to team training. He is expected to return to action soon.
