The Hanwha-Samsung combined team in the Japanese Education League suffered an upset loss.

The Hanwha-Samsung team lost an upset 6-7 against the Shikoku IL team of the Japan Independent League in the Education League in Miyazaki, Japan, on May 25.

Han Seung-hyuk (Hanwha) gave up three runs (two earned) on eight hits in five innings. Jang Ji-soo (Hanwha) took the loss, giving up four runs on six hits in one inning. Kim Si-hyun (Samsung) pitched one inning of one-hit ball, striking out two, and Hong Won-pyo (Samsung) pitched one inning of one-hit ball.

Yang Woo-hyun (second base), Jang Jin-hyuk (right field), Lee Jin-young (center field), Kim In-hwan (designated hitter), Eu Eui-yeol (left field), Kim Gun (third base), Heo Kwan-hoe (catcher), Lee Min-joon (shortstop), and Kim Jae-sang (first base) were the starting lineup for the Alliance.

Han gave up a leadoff double to the top of the first inning and a sacrifice fly to center field to put runners on first and third. In the second inning, he gave up a single to the leadoff hitter, but got the lead runner out on a grounder to shortstop to load the bases.
