The Hanwha-Samsung combined team in the Japanese Education League suffered an upset loss.
The Hanwha-Samsung team lost an upset 6-7 against the Shikoku IL team of the Japan Independent League in the Education League in Miyazaki, Japan, on May 25.
Han Seung-hyuk (Hanwha) gave up three runs (two earned) on eight hits in five innings. Jang Ji-soo (Hanwha) took the loss, giving up four runs on six hits in one inning. Kim Si-hyun (Samsung) pitched one inning of one-hit ball, striking out two, and Hong Won-pyo (Samsung) pitched one inning of one-hit ball.
Yang Woo-hyun (second base), Jang Jin-hyuk (right field), Lee Jin-young (center field), Kim In-hwan (designated hitter), Eu Eui-yeol (left field), Kim Gun (third base), Heo Kwan-hoe (catcher), Lee Min-joon (shortstop), and Kim Jae-sang (first base) were the starting lineup for the Alliance.
Trailing 0-1 in the top of the first inning, the Unified team drew two walks but failed to capitalize. After the first inning, Jang Jin-hyuk singled and Kim In-hwan walked to load the bases, but Uribe was thrown out at shortstop.
In the second inning, Kim Gun reached on an error and Heo Kwan-ho singled to right to put runners on first and third. Lee Min-joon followed with a single to left to tie the game at 1-1. With runners on first and second, Kim Jae-sang hit a two-run double off the right field wall. Yang Woo-hyun followed with a sacrifice fly to center field to make it 3-1.
Yonsei added another run in the fourth inning. Lee Min-joon led off with a double to left. Kim Jae-sang singled to right, putting runners on first and third with no outs. Yang Woo-hyun singled up the middle to make it 4-1. Jang Jin-hyuk’s grounder to second put runners on first and third, and Lee Jin-young made it 5-1 with a sacrifice fly to left field.
Han gave up a leadoff double to the top of the first inning and a sacrifice fly to center field to put runners on first and third. In the second inning, he gave up a single to the leadoff hitter, but got the lead runner out on a grounder to shortstop to load the bases. He then got the runner on first with a quick popup to shortstop and a grounder to second to end the inning.
In the third inning, Kim got the leadoff hitter out on a fielder’s choice, but a grounder to first and a failed steal of second ended the inning. The fourth inning ended in a triple play with a fly ball to center, a grounder to second, and a grounder to first.
Han Seung-hyuk added another run in the fifth. Back-to-back singles put runners on first and second with no outs, and a wild pitch advanced them to second and third. He hit a two-run single to center field to make it 5-3.굿모닝토토
Lee Chung-ho (Hanwha) came on as the second pitcher in the sixth inning and got an infield grounder, a strikeout, and a groundout to end the inning, but Jang Ji-soo (Hanwha) broke down in the seventh inning. She gave up a leadoff double and back-to-back singles. With runners on first and second, she got a fly out to center field.

In the top of the ninth, Ryu Seung-min cut the lead to 7-6 with a solo home run over the right field fence. Two batters later, Kim In-hwan reached on an error by the shortstop, but Eurhyup flied out to right field to end the game.
