Matei, Kim Ji-han, and Issei’s ‘gut-wrenching’ trio get off to a great start with two straight wins!

Woori Card gets off to a strong start with two straight wins to open the season.

Woori Card earned a shutout 3-0 (25-17 25-19 26-24) set win against Hyundai Capital in the 2023-2024 Dodram V League at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul on Monday.

Matej scored 27 points, including two service aces and one block. She also leads the team with a 64.86% attack percentage. Kim Ji-han added 10 kills and Issei finished with seven kills, including three block assists. 

Woori Card also outperformed Hyundai Capital in attack success rate and blocking.

In the first set, Matei was blocked by Hyundai Capital and went down 0-3. Hyundai Capital took the early lead. However, at 8-11, Kim Ji-han’s attack brought them back into the game, and Matei’s attack tied it up.안전놀이터

Then, Woori Card Asia Quarter Issei successfully blocked Ahmed’s attack to turn the tide. Woori Card then held on to the lead and took the first set.

In the second set, Woori Kad was on top. Matei’s back-to-back service aces and Ahmed’s unforced errors made the set score 2-0.

The third set remained close. With set point on the line, Urikhad Matei went for a service ace, but the ball hit the net for a deuce. However, the fixer Matei came back with a backhand winner to create match point, and Issei roared with excitement as she blocked Jeon Kwang-in’s attack.

Meanwhile, after winning their opening two matches in a row, Woori Card will try to make it three in a row against OK Financial Group in Ansan on Nov. 21.
