Son Heung-min looks to score against ‘North London rivals’ Arsenal
Tottenham and Arsenal are both unbeaten in the 23-24 Premier League (PL) with four wins and one draw heading into the fifth round.
In the recent head-to-heads, Arsenal have held the advantage with four wins and one loss in five games, so Tottenham will need to rely on their captain, Son Heung-min. In 18 career appearances against the Gunners, Son has scored five goals and provided two assists, while earning three PKs.
Now in his 14th season in Europe, Son has scored 197 goals in his career. After scoring 20 goals for Hamburg and 29 for Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga, he moved to the PL and has 148 goals for Tottenham alone. With just three steps away from 200 European goals, Son will be looking to take a step closer to the milestone against Arsenal, while also moving into the top 20 of the PL’s all-time goalscorers list. Currently tied for 30th on the list with Darren Bent with 106 goals, one more goal would see him move into a tie for 29th place on the PL’s all-time goalscoring list with Paul Scholes (107). It will also be interesting to see if Son can find the back of the net two games after his hat-trick against Burnley.
Arsenal and Tottenham are both unbeaten in the league this season, with 13 points between them. However, Spurs have struggled away from the Emirates Stadium, having not won a league game there in 13 years since November 2010. Arsenal have also gone eight league games without a win at Tottenham, though they did pick up a victory last season.
